Trailblazers

Become a Park Trailblazer, clearing paths for other explorers venturing through the miles of Portage Park’s wilderness trails. Clear brush, spread wood chips, prune branches, collect trash and debris; look for foreign objects and glass, remove invasive species to keep the forests accessible for all to enjoy our natural world. This is also a great way for individuals to fulfill community service hours. Group or individuals can work on specific trails or contact us for trails that need assistance.

We will provide supplies, tools and a maintenance list for the selected trail. Contact us on the form on the right with the date you are looking to hold your Trailblaze adventure. We will also hold specific Trailblazer workdays as shown below. Just show up with work gloves, and we suggested you wear long pants and closed toe shoes. In appreciation of their efforts to keep our trails safe, participants will get a Portage Trailblazer t-shirt and official Trailblazer 5-in-1 Survival Kit so they make it back home in time for dinner.
